Activating a Local License on a Network Server

Note: PROKON version 3.0 introduced License Manager, a new way of managing your license. This new system shield PROKON users from the complexity of licensing and removes the hardware and network limitations sometimes experienced with local licenses. Using License Manager is currently optional, but eventually it will be the only licensing scheme.

If using PROKON with a local license, you need to activate the license before you can use it.

Activating the programs for simultaneous use over the network

The procedure to activate the network instance of PROKON is the same as described for activating a standalone computer. There is one difference though, and that is that you would likely want to activate not only one, but all the available workstations on the server.

Once activated on the server, PROKON is ready for use from multiple PCs on the network. No further steps are required to make the license activation network-aware.

Deactivating your network installation

The procedure to deactivate is identical that to deactivate a standalone installation.

Note: Deactivating does not delete any files. Instead, all program and data files are left in position to enable you to later activate the workstation again. To completely remove PROKON from a server, you must uninstall the software.
